So, we can all (here in the U.K.) look forward to an average saving on our water bill next year of about £3, thanks to OFWAT's financial restrictions on the water companies over charging us.
About time for OFFUEL to be founded - to stop the Oil Companies holding us to ransom.
Currently, just before the Christmas rush, when demand is at its highest, oil laden ships are refusing to dock and unload until demand is such that the price is forced up artificially to an astronomical high!
Our dictatorship of a Government will do nothing about this though. The more profit made from oil means more tax payable from the Oil Companies, and then more tax from VAT from private sales at the pump, all on top of the disgracefully high fuel tax they already take, thus making petrol and diesel in Britain the most expensive, as Jezza would say, "in the world!"
Remember a few years ago, when Dictator Gordon, then Chancellor, put a windfall tax on the Oil Companies as he deemed they had made too much profit? What happened to that money? Was it returned to us, the fuel purchaser who had been ripped off? I don't think so! No, Dictator Brown kept it to waste on more folly filled Public Sector projects.
The Oil Industry then covered this "loss of money" by again raising fuel costs to us, the customer!
This further crippled our Road Transport Industry, and further crippled our oil reliant Manufacturing Industries, those that were left after years of cheap foreign imports (and cheap foreign hauliers). So now, the money is running out. Britain is slipping from being the third richest economy in the world to now, I think, the sixth, being overtaken this last week by Brasil.
Meanwhile, any suggestion of putting British interests first is criticised by Dictator Brown as "Protectionism"! No wonder this once great nation of ours is in the shit up to its ears. Well done Gordon, well done!
Rip Off Britain! No kidding!
