I put in for a tax rebate and when I chased it I was told it takes 4 weeks to process a letter. ie, over paid, useless revenue officials take upto 4 weeks to open and read a letter and do a few sums! You can complain but they will take 15 days to respond, probably with some guff about high volume.

With useless c***s collecting our taxes and even more useless c***s spending it, this country has no chance of sorting out this mess.

Not as bad as the Inland Revenue (or "HMRC" as it is now haughtily known).

I had a limited company a few years back; didn't work out, so I closed it down three years ago and notified the HMRC and Companies House (who keep the official record of all companies in the UK).

This year, I sent them the letter (which I just print out and send now, all I do is change the date on the top), together with a photocopy of the document from Companies house to say that my company REALLY DOESN'T EXIST ANYMORE!!!!

This, ladies and gentlemen, is where your taxes are going ... to funding a whole load of people to do a whole load of completely useless work (sending me the notice every year, then processing my response letter, which probably requires them to check it out with Companies House and do a full investigation to ensure that I am not defrauding the Government, then a letter back to me to say, "oh sorry").

The Police have made no effort whatsoever to catch these criminals. They are a complete waste of blue fabric! Yet they expect me and thousands more to stump up an extra 8.7% for their "invaluable service to the community"!

Their justification for this huge increase is due to "increased anti terrorism activity requirements"! Yeh, like we can prove that is the case! Ask them for proof and they claim they can't give it as it's of a covert nature. Reckon we've been fooled again, don't you?
