One of JC's charities?

Postby dotty on Sat Aug 15, 2009 11:10 am

Would I be right in thinking 'Help for Heroes' is a charity started by JC? I got the following email the other day from a local band about a song they have done for the charity with all proceeds going to the charity, heard it live last night and couldn't help thinking what a great backing track it would make for a top gear feature, how about it JC.

Hi

We are a new band called Soulweaver based in the UK.

We are going to release our song 'Remembrance Day' in aid of the charity Help For Heroes ( www.helpforheroes.org.uk ) in November with all profits from the record going to the charity.

We would really appreciate it if we can get a few people to come and watch the demonstration video of the song at our youtube and let us know what they think. We are working hard on this song and we mean it with the deepest respect to all service people and veterans, and to remind civilians that veterans are all around us as I indicate in the lyrics. It could be the person driving your taxi, your teacher, your uncle, your bank manager, anyone.

Heroes among us.

We would ask for any support anyone can give to help make the most of this opportunity to raise money and awareness for an excellent charity. We hope this song can help stir the emotions of a nation in support of those who, or have, put their neck on the line.

or goto http://www.soulweaverband.co.uk for more information.

Would be great if you could give it a mention or put on website or something, its all about raising money for charity, we dont get a penny.

We are also holding a big PR event with Cambridge United Football Club on October 31st. We will be handing out flyers, taking donations and playing the record through a PA from 1pm before the game as people are going in. They are playing the song in ground at half time. Then we are playing a promtional gig at the Seven Stars on Newmarket Road (Just down from Abbey Stadium). We will be fundraising, CD's will be available for donations. A great day out for all the family, and all for charity!!!
More and more football clubs are offering to play Remembrance Day in the Stadium including Colchester FC and St.Neots FC (Who will be holding a promotion event for us at their home game on Tuesday evening). We are currently waiting to hear back from other clubs.

Thanks,

Goodge (Soulweaver)
