As a truck driver or LORRYIST working out of the container terminal at Felixstowe I have to say that I personally was not offended by Jeremys' remarks regarding the killing a prostiute, I feel sure that Jeremy never meant to offend anyone, let's face it, the incident cannot be compared at all with the Ross/Brand incident, that was offensive although I think that the whole thing was blown out of all proportion but enough about that, let's get back to Jezza, he is right when he says that truck driving is a hard job, irregular hours, long days, I am away from home all week and I have a young son with autism, that puts a strain on my family life but I have to earn a living, the hard part isn't driving the truck itself, modern lorries are mostly automatic nowadays so driving is a lot easier, I drive a Scania R420 6X2 Midline with Opti-cruise and that is very easy to drive, although it is automatic, it still has a clutch pedal, why? it just does, even Jezza, Hamster and Captain Slow could drive it.
Getting back to the incident in question I would like to point out that a massive majority of people obviously don't find too much wrong with Jezzas' faux pas, he just got carried away with the moment, he is know for his outstanding style and has often been cosidered as nonconformist when it comes to voicing his opinions, well I for one like that about him, he can be funny as well as serious and let's face it, Top Gear would not be the same without him, if the BBC are in any way worried that he may cock it up again in this series, it is mostly all recorded now and it is indeed recorded on a Wednesday for Sunday broadcast so why not let the editors do sdome work and then the problem is solved only don't let them get carried away.
Enough said.
