I have just had a brilliant - YES brilliant idea - but it relies on your support Jeremy & that of the Top Gear branding !... I'm not sure your going to like it but please please read to the end & have a good think about it.

Your celebrity track lap success pillar format, complete with magnetic name / results strips (& even car seats & Stig outfit) could be adapted for a lung capacity competition stand for use at school fairs / health fairs / shopping centres / anywhere etc - to demonstrate the impact of smoking .. JEREMY! JEREMY! stay with me! This is why you are crutial - Everyone loves that feature & you as a smoker wouldn't be offputting - In a very cool way you'd be helping them make their own decisions - Imagine getting one over the anti smoker bullies who annoy you by being more successful than them at detering young smokers!

My fit 17 yr old son is now smoking & coughing - he laughed when I suggested I might be fitter than him - I said we should put it to the test (not sure that was a good idea as he is probably much fitter than me ...but not as fit as he could / should be!) There's no real glory in being fitter than your mum - but pit teenagers against each other in the v cool set up of a mock top gear studio in front of their mates & the impact they are having on their lungs may just hit home.

I'm hoping to put this to the Beeb / NHS / anyone who'll listen - but desperately want your support. Pretty please?
