Clarkson must stand firm

Postby lancashirelass on Fri Nov 07, 2008 1:02 pm

How many poeple who complained were actually affected by the tragic events. Get over yourselves and don't watch things which you know will upset you. I watch Top Gear nearly every week (It will get repeated anyway) and if I got upset about the manner that females were treated I'd be complaining every week. Why can't people have a sense of humour, for goodness sake. Religion, sex, tradition, stereotypes, even sicker things have been joked about. If you don't like it, don't listen, but why should others that don't find stuff offensive be made to listen to your version of humour. Maybe I might find your version of humour offensive.

Each to their own

Regards Sharon

PS - Jeremy, If you resign or do what Ross did, I will feel very disappointed in you. You are employed to do a job and you know exactly what the BBC employ you for. It's certainly not to appease the masses, so do not cow to those who have jumped on a bandwagon that they did not even see in the first place, (as is what happened with ross and brand).

Regards

Sharon
(who also is not impressed with lorry drivers, but that is because they always try to over take when there is a crawler lane)

^^^ This lady talks alot of sense !!

If Clarkson leaves, the BBC will be snowed under with alot more complaints about his dismissal/resignation than about this remark he made !

BBC should be listening to the larger majority of tv license payers who love top gear and not the miniscule minority of belly rubbers who are moaning about a single comment !

This is what happens when you have an ex prime minister who's wife is a human rights barrister !
