Strangely, I've just returned from Holland, who introduced this anti smoking EU legislation in a different way (and you thought it was the British Government who thought this all up by itself???)
If a pub is run by one person/staff member and they have no objection to smoking, then the ban does not apply. If the bar has staff, then a smoking room/area may be provided in an area which members of staff do not use during their duties. This was to me a revelation. Good on the cloggies (who % of smokers is far greater than ours) for being a little more grown up with these rules. And 20 of Phillip Morris's fine Marlboro were only 4,50 euro (£3.95) and near £5.75 here, and Golden Virginia tobacco only 5,90 euro (£5.18) and near £11.50 here.
I also found out the following:-
No cctv
No bin gestapo
No mass unemployment
No DNA database
No Anti terrorism (catch all) law
Freedom of speech
The right to protest (without the danger of being killed by the police, even if you’re white)
No discrimination laws allowing discrimination of heterosexual white indigenous males
Gert Willders is regarded as a bit of a leftist liberal (Not a fascist as portrayed by HM Government)
MP's who openly declare their expenses
Laws governing the hate speeches against the Dutch state(Apparently some rabble rousers already deported to country of origin despite being born in Holland)
No handouts for immigrants/asylum seekers for a period of time (I guess that's why they’re all here)
I could go on and on, and I was only there for two and a half weeks.
