Jeremy's driving skills

Postby HowardM on Wed Oct 14, 2009 10:27 am

Hello,
A colleague at work was expressing his admiration for your sideways driving.
I put him right, I told him to watch carefully, the editor always cut away from your slides as you would pass the
point of recovery.
I told him if he wanted to see car control, he should watch Tiff Needell.
I also told him of the time I was doing Formula Ford in the Eighties, I was at Silverstone and saw yourself driving in
a "celebrity" race. You were beaten by Sarah Green and numerous others as you skirted around the outside of the track
nowhere near an apex the whole "race".
I would like to see the three of you doing a timed lap in your reasonably priced car, after all you have the advantage of knowing every bump on the track.
Come on, what's YOUR best time.?

Well what an ignorant man you are.
Jeremy never said he is a great driver. In fact he has stated more than once on TopGear that he drives like an idiot.
And you surely don't need to see that elderly racing driver Tiff(yeah the one that only babbles while driving) to see brilliant driving, HowarsM has totally forgotten why they have The Stig. To compare a racing driver like Tiff to a TV presenter like Jeremy is utter nonsense. That would be the same to compare a F1 car to a BTCC car and say: 'Oh the BTCC car is bad'.

And before I forget: Watch TopGear season3 Ep.6 where Jeremy drives the Holden Monaro. Not once they cut a shot and you see him recover and drive on from really huge slides again and again.

Obviously you never watched TopGear with brain cells switched to 'ON', because otherwise you would know Jeremy's time in the reasonably priced car is 1:50.

If he'd stop choosing 700 Series Volvos in every cheap car challenge, he might learn how to drive actual cars better. Because a 745 Estate is a f&%$#*g appliance, not a car.
